WINDOWS 7 IS UNABLE TO SEND A MESSAGE TO THE PRINTER TO SCAN. UNABLE TO HAVE THE PRINTER SCAN AND FORWARD RESULTS TO COMPUTER. UNABLE TO PRINT VISA STATEMENT FROM BANKS WEB-SITE. HOWEVER CAN E-MAIL STATEMENT TO MYSELF, PLACING IT IN DOCUMENTS AND THEN THE COMPUTER WILL ASK THE PRINTER TO PRINT AND IT WILL THEN DO SO. HAD hp GO OVER MY COMPUTER SYSTEM AND THE HP PRINTER AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO MAKE ANY CORRECTIVE CHANGES AND SUGGESTED THAT WE CONTACT MICROSOFT FOR A FIX.

Standard HP noise. The printer is printing, it is HP's software which not working..how could this NOT be an HP issue. Did you download and install the windows 7 software or did you load off the disc which came with the printer??? You should use the windows 7 download from HP. even then it may not work (win 64 bit is giving me fits with HP software, but then again those photosmart printers are junk)

THIS IS A NEW PRINTER AND ALSO A NEW HP COMPUTER. THE SOFTWARE WAS INSTALLED PREVIOUS TO MY PURCHASE ISHOULD ADD THAT WHEN I REQUEST THE COMPUTER (WINDOWS 7 SOFTWARE) TO REQUEST THE PRINTER TO PRINT OR SCAN.... THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO RECORD OF THE COMAND SHOWING ON THE COMPUTER IN THE CONTROL PANEL ( PRINTER BOX) . I FEEL THIS IS A SOFTWARE ISSUE WITH MICROSOFT

No it is a issue with the HP software, here is a BIG hint for you, when you purchase a HP THEY MUST support the installed Windows, by them saying you must contact Microsoft..THEY are not honoring THEIR end of the deal. OEM software and what you have is OEM, is supported by the vendor NOT microsoft. The HP software must install correctly for you to have those scan options. I have been thru this a few times with the HP Photosmart printers and it is hit and miss (as I said on a 64 bit OS it is MUCH more flaky than on a 32 bit OS). You have not stated if you are running 64 bit or 32 bit but in any case you should uninstall the HP software reboot and then install the lastest software from HP.

Hi, I am sorry for what you have gone through. From your description, it seems there are two issues: 1. You can not make the printer scan automatically. 2. The printer can not print banks websites. Correct me if I misunderstood, according to me, to scan sometime require operating on the printer manually. For the second issue, I would like to confirm can you print content on other website, and can you print general file like .doc , .txt etc. Meanwhile, please understand the OEM version of windows is an operation system that is modified by the manufacture, HP in your case.
